Feature Project: “Peaceful Pond”
JUST INSTALLED: HealthPartners Frauenshuh Cancer Center (Methodist Hospital), St. Louis Park, MN. Having lost parents and closest friends to cancer, this project was personal. For years, the Center’s art collection – many pieces made possible by generous financial donations – has exemplified the power of healing art in healthcare spaces. "Peaceful Pond" (commissioned by an art consultancy firm) complements the hospital’s beautiful wetland setting.

WORK-IN-PROGRESS: North Lakeland Discovery Center, Wisconsin. Despite tile-delivery delays, we’re making progress on this main-entrance floor medallion for a beautiful nature center in Manitowish Waters. We’re working with heavy duty floor tile, so it’s truly “hard” work! Getting the imagery right requires hand and electric tools, and a whole lotta time. In the next few newsletters, we’ll show the medallion coming together.
NEW VIDEO: Central Lutheran Church, Downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. Check out this one-minute project-overview video taken at the recent dedication ceremony for the mosaic baptismal font we completed. It was one of three architectural mosaic projects we did for the church over the past year:
• Baptismal font/fountain 3 @ 4’ diameter
• Pascal candle holder 4” x 40” x 8 sides
• Floor inlays 35 @ 6” x 6"

Breathing new life into older work. Shades of blue have taken over the design world, and we couldn’t be happier. If you know our work, you know how much we love infusing spaces with color – and breaking “art world” rules. Here’s an available work that recently received a facelift to better fit modern spaces.

COMMUNITY FUN: St. Louis Park Art Fair. Who likes puzzles? Apparently, everyone. Stacia volunteered at the day-long fair, overseeing a fun experiment and keeping her community engagement skills sharp. She heaped her scrap tile on a big table for people to arrange impromptu, temporary mosaics – make your own or add to another’s. No gluing down; no pressure. Participants could also fill a Ziplock bag with free take-home tile to glue onto a sturdy paper plate. What a hit for all ages!
