New Installation: Virginia Beach, Virginia
Our 40-foot-long mosaic mural for Old Donation Episcopal Church is installed! Located in Virginia Beach, this installation (our largest ever) concludes a two-year collaboration with this great congregation. The mosaic features symbolic Episcopalian imagery in a narrative that flows across two walls. Materials: ceramic tile, SICIS Italian glass, goldleaf glass, mirror, and shells unearthed onsite during recent construction.

The center Celtic knot challenged Stacia's Roman-style mosaic skills.
The human figures helped us better understand anatomy and creating movement, in inclusive forms.
We embedded shells from the actual site for added dimension.
Post-installation, it was an honor to discuss the mosaic’s creation and host a Q&A with the congregation.

One email, one phone call, one DM, and our studio schedule can change instantly. A few months ago, we (weirdly, anxiously) had no projects in the queue. Now, new mosaic commissions will take us well into 2025 in:

Away from the Studio
Pacific Northwest Hiking: My middle daughter and I had the trip of a lifetime in September. We hiked stunning sites in Washington (Olympic National Park) and Oregon. I love nature, adventure, great coffee and, of course, my incredible daughter. Now, if I could just get a mosaic project in that gorgeous area…

Kayaking for Trash: I (Stacia) can’t stand garbage, especially in nature. So I pick it up, on foot or with my kayak. Here’s the trash mosaic I made from about two hours of work at a local urban lake. The ducks deserve better.
