Despite the pandemic, we’re bringing hopeful, color-infused art to people, places and communities. We are incredibly grateful for our recent work and the terrific virtual collaborations we continue to have. Stay safe friends. Happier, art-filled days are ahead.
Public Art News
Bemidji ("bemijiigaamaag" in Ojibwe) State University. Engaging story-telling and culture-building are cornerstones of public art and our art practice. That's why we're so proud of this installation in the new Hagg Sauer Hall. This huge mosaic – dedicated to the graduating class of 2020 – is ready to greet returning students and staff. The pandemic disrupted in-person student engagement, but we incorporated their words in Ojibwe and English, and many meaningful donated objects.
Uptown Metro Transit Center. Can public art deter graffiti? Yes! We installed this colorful modular mosaic last month on windowsill seating in a large, urban hub for bus riders. It’s part of a year-long test with Minneapolis Metro Transit to inspire respect for the space. If successful, we're set to cover more seating surfaces there in the future.
Finalists, But No-Go. “Not every pony grows up to be a Pegasus” (lyrics by Atmosphere). These were our proposed public art designs for two, different multi-use housing developments. The art budgets were modest, but we offered these creative site-specific solutions for themes of community and unity.

Grand Forks, ND, Gallery. I was recently selected to create an interpretation of sculptor Zoran Mojsilov's new 150-ton pink granite sculpture, Northern Rose, in Grand Forks. Using left-over chips from his studio, I made this mosaic. It’s currently showing and for sale at the Grand Forks Public Arts Commission Gallery.
